The TK1 Video Lab. A major and signature offering of TK1 since 2021, this drop-in program encourages youth to pursue digital storytelling, from simple video explorations of identity and place to more complex social-justice pieces. Leading these programs is TK1’s Director of Media, an accomplished filmmaker who leads students on individualized learning journeys. This program has played a major role in students choosing careers or higher-education opportunities in the film industry.

Over the past few years, pieces produced by students during this after-school program include:

  • Rolling Altars: Riding Low in Northern New Mexico
  • Headspace: Teen Mental Health in Taos
  • Mind over Meals: Teen Diet in New Mexico .

Upon achieving different learning milestones, participating students are often invited to join our fee-for-service unit, TK1 Productions, and start earning an hourly wage (starting at $15.62).

OPEN to HS Freshmen and up. Interested? Call/text 575-425-0222.
