Sports Journalism is a partnership between TK1 and The Taos News. With an initial focus on photojournalism, this sees TK1 students attending Taos High School varsity games and then shadowing The Taos News’ sports editor (Blynn Beltran) to learn about the types of photographs, angles, lighting etc. that the newspaper prefers to publish. TK1 students then see their work published in the paper. TK1 students also use TK1’s extensive camera gear, including long-range zoom lenses, and will likely add an after-game interview component in early 2026 to their journalistic efforts.
