2025 Summer Camps
This year, our camps will be filled with FUN, GAMES, AND ADVENTURE
~and yes, some media-and-tech along the way~
WHEN: There are four different one-week camps for 2025. Each runs Monday-Friday, 9am – 4pm, starting June 2, 2025.
WHERE: Camps begin and end at TK1 Headquarters – 125b La Posta Rd just north of Albertsons in Taos. There will be transportation provided on most days of each camp to sites around Taos County.
WHO: Students aged 10-14.
SLOTS: This year we are only taking eight students per camp. This allows everyone to fit into our Suburban.
COST: Each camp is $150. Every Friday is Popcorn and Pizza day!
SCHOLARSHIPS: We have limited full and partial scholarships, as per the registration form.
Camp One: One Week Film Camp
Lead Instructor: Dani Cervantes
June 2 – 6, 2025. Monday-Friday, 9am – 4pm
This filmmaking camp offers a dynamic and immersive experience where budding filmmakers have the opportunity to explore their creativity and learn the fundamentals of filmmaking while collaborating with their peers. This year we’ll shoot mini scenes at sites around Taos!
Camp Three: Streamers Paradise
Lead Instructor: Pete Monro
June 16-20 2025. Monday-Friday 9am – 4pm
Streamers Paradise is for campers who want to start their own YouTube channel. We’ll learn everything about cameras, lighting, audio, livestream software and setting up your YouTube Channel. We’ll produce videos outdoors, as well as indoors, setup multicam streams, learn how to stream video games live with PIP, and lots more! We’ll shoot and stream at sites across the county.
Camp Two: Animation Station
Lead Instructor: Kiki Siebenaler
June 9-13, 2025. Monday-Friday 9am – 4pm
Campers will learn the basics of story structure and create a variety of short animated films. Campers will make characters using clay, toys, and natural objects, like sticks and rocks, bringing them to life through the magic of stop-motion animation. Campers will also learn the basics of apps like Flip-a-Clip, Procreate Dreams and Adobe Animate. Perfect for young illustrators too. This year, we’ll animate and draw across the county.
Camp Four: Coding Robots and Drones
Lead Instructor: Bill Hood
June 23-27, 2025. Monday-Friday 9am – 4pm
How can we control hardware with software? What basic electronics and programming language do we need to make robots and drones do exactly what we want? This is a hands-on camp ideal for the budding tech enthusiast that teaches core concepts in binary math, binary logic, the speed of light, time and general nature of electronic circuits. We’ll talk Linux, MBots, and Tello drones…
