Jake Martinez and Hayden Greywolf from the 6th grade at Taos Charter School won third place in the 2019 Brainy Solutions video contest, presented by the New Mexico Museum of History and Science. The contest is open to middle school classrooms throughout the state, and asks students to offer innovative solutions to world problems.

Jake and Hayden’s video presented their plan to create a metal shield to cover microwave ovens to protect people from microwave radiation. On May 6, 2019, their video was shown on the IMAX screen at the NM Museum of History and Science in Albuquerque.

The sixth grade class at Taos Charter School is one of the 20 classrooms participating in the True Kids 1 Media Education pilot this year in Taos, NM.
